TORONTO – Do you have a September resolution?
After the lazy days of summer, many Torontonians are treating September as the “real” new year when it comes to working out.
“Everyone is back in the September routine — falling back into fitness. It’s definitely a lot busier,” Molly said outside her gym in the Beach.
“It’s definitely a big rush for people,” another woman said.
“You start having to sign up on a list to get into the class,” said Brian outside his spin class on Queen Street East.
Susan Bosley, who created the “Skinny Legs” method in Toronto, told 680News September is her busiest time of the year, and that she’s seeing January-like crowds in her classes.
“As soon as September rolls around — I don’t know if it’s just a new beginning for moms; they maybe have a little bit more time on their hands — they’re completely ready to start getting into even better shape and looking after themselves,” Bosley said.
“Even though January feels like a new beginning, the stress leading up to January may be a little too much,” she added.
Bosley said everyone experiences different results, but some could see changes even with just two workouts a week.
She also said it takes around three months for a fitness routine to truly take hold, so people shouldn’t give up if they’re just starting out.
